Seeing the Value of Every Person – Emily Colson

The Renewed FamilyFeatured, Special Needs3 Comments

I wept as I watched this beautiful video. It is longer than videos I usually post (32 minutes), but it is so worth it. So bookmark the video and set it aside for a time of morning devotions.

Every church has a different context, but one thing I know for sure is that everyone has a place in Church and that includes Southland! This is a video about special needs AND being pro-life.

I hope it encourages you and that you spend a little extra time looking for those on the fringe in our faith family in the next week. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

  1. What a beautiful message! I feel so blessed to be part of a church family who loves like this. Because of this kind of love, our son with autism, was baptized this past weekend. Thank you, Jesus. This mama’s heart is full of joy.

  2. This video brought tears to my eyes multiple times. A few things that jumped out at me.. Emily says something like the church is pro life or people are pro life but do they LIVE pro life once that child is born. (In her case born with autism) and with that, people can say that people with disabilities belong, but then want to determine WHERE they belong.
Also, she said someday they will be able to detect autism in utero. That’s a scary thought as she said 1 in 40 children are diagnosed with autism.
    Thanks for sharing the video.

  3. I was encouraged by the genuine excitement and anticipation to worship . What a gift to the church body!
